AthleticsHFA: SCS offers both male and female students the opportunity to participate in a variety of competitive sports. Through the Mustang athletic program, each sports team also participates in a community service project to give back to the City of Detroit. During the 2012-2013 school year, the HFA: SCS athletic roster includes: 6th Grade Girls Volleyball Coed Basketball Middle School 7th & 8th Grades Boys Basketball Girls Basketball Girls Softball Girls Volleyball High School Boys Varsity Basketball Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Boys Varsity Baseball Girls Varsity Basketball Girls Varsity Volleyball Girls Varsity Softball HFA: SCS student athletes practice and compete in our 10,000 sq. ft. gymnasium, which was dedicated to Bob & Ellen Thompson in 2010 for their considerable investment in our school. Parking for home athletic events is available in the visitors parking lot, located across the street from the Cass Avenue entrance (corner of Cass and Baltimore). Our mascot, The Mustang, honors Ford Motor Company and Ford Motor Company Fund, which have been partners in the development of Henry Ford Academies since 1997.
